TMV (Thermostatic mixing valves) are valves installed in water systems which help to prevent the risk from a user being scaled by ensuring the temperature is safe. As water passes through the valve it is blended through the valve as it passes through to the tap.
It is a necessity to keep water sources such as water cylinders at a temperature of 60°C to prevent bacteria and Legionella growth. TMV Servicing is essential where vulnerable people are present such as children and the elderly.
TMV'S are found in most properties, however are more prevalent in schools, care homes, hospitals or anywhere where vulnerable people are present

There are two parts to the maintenance requirements for thermostatic mixing valves (TMV's) -Legionella control -Scald risk prevention. TMV service can be carried out as a stand alone service or as part of a legionella control regime.
